Jon and I have really been bummed over the imminent closure of PSU for the PC. :( We're continuing to look into replacement games.

I did a google search and found this blog page about "where do we go now from PSU?" It gives a few Korean game suggestions that look great, though I'm a little bit wary since there's plenty of Asian-made games that look very pretty but are lacking in substance...

Of the three mentioned, I'm currently favoring Tera Online. Fun selection of races and classes, and the developers are trying to make it so that all race/gender/class combinations are available. One of their selling points is also the "targetless" gameplay, in other words more like PSU where your positioning and aiming have to be done manually.

And I am SO playing female Castanic. I've wanted to play a demon chick for a while now!! But not completely sure on a class yet. (This is something my MMO group has to work out, as ideally, I'd like us to be a well balanced team like we were in PSU.)

For 3 or 4 years now I've been playing Phantasy Star Universe every Friday and Saturday night (or most nights, anyway) with Clark, Jim and my hubby. Sometimes my sis joined in too. It was something we could look forward to doing every weekend... a constant in life.

By the end of 2009 I'd gotten my main character, Reina Hidalgo, very close to the level cap (160, or is it higher now, not sure). I maxed her levels in 6 classes: Fighgunner (still my favorite ever), Guntecher (my 2nd favorite, yay for bows!), Fortegunner, Fortefighter, Protranser (EX traps rule) and Acrofighter. I'm very close to maxing Gunmaster and was determined to start on Fighmaster next, the melee weapon equivalent to the Gunmaster class, more or less. (Spear is one of their favored weapons... I love spears!)

But now it's all going to be gone at the end of March. :( We knew this would happen, the PC/PS2 servers have such loooowww activity compared to Xbox servers. But it's sad to see. All those hours of play (over 1000), yet even if I did get an Xbox I wouldn't be able to transfer all those levels over.

Like the title says... I got Jon to buy me fig newtons, and I am eating them. <3 (random~!)

Anyway, I ran ED today, and it went fairly well. I shouldn't get so enamored at my NPCs, but I liked portraying Jackal for Milena. His methods may not be good for the Realm in the long run, but he certainly thinks they are. Well, he's just one of those stubborn-to-a-fault Sids, I guess!

Milena's scene needs to continue sooner or later, I never got to bring out Elyssa. ;.;

Lim and Valeriya got more Vermillion talk and I sure hope that I didn't reveal so much the rest of the game is pointless. I don't think so though, since even without those revelations there is still plenty that can happen in the Realm to give PCs something to do. Besides that, they have to actually figure what to do with that knowledge, if anything.

So I sat and thought about what I'd run for ED next Mon. Uh oh. I've come up with some ideas I'm kind of apprehensive about pulling off, so I ended up asking Jon to help me with some NPCs. Anyway, I hope it turns out ok, especially for Kraken because I ran so badly for him last week. :/

All I wrote out were a few notes, but I don't want to obsess over thinking of ED days before I actually run. It drains me. :x I also hope I can finish this last part with Milena in a single session. *crosses fingers*

Speaking of things that are somewhat draining, I am pondering giving up on Tabula Rasa for now. It makes me very sad, because I REALLY like the gameplay and setting (I even like Logos now, wtf!) But again, I find myself sitting and thinking about balancing my alone time with my various activities, and whether TR is worth the money. I can't keep up with PSU and DR and TR on top of RP, I think :/ And if I just solo on it / play with Jon every few days, what's the point in playing $15/month?

Instead, I may encourage Jon to run a private Warhammer Fantasy RP for me. :D 'Cause it'd be easier for me to play a RP now and then on off days I have nothing else to do... and it's also free! Nothing beats free entertainment! (Though I will still miss TR when my free month is up. *siiigh*)

Earlier, Jon and I went out for a bit. Walking in the snow was tiring, but we got where we needed to, had a nice lunch and bought a few RP books. Namely Warhammer Fantasy and Dark Heresy, since Selina told us they're now out of print. Also decided to pick up another copy of Ex1: The Dragon-blooded, because mine is all torn up. And a copy of the Ex1 Games of Divinity 'cause the scan I have sucks.

Hrmm... and I spent the evening playing TR. I'm wondering whether I can keep up with it... I like it but I have a lot of other interests too.

My char got her second class change. Reina the commando! I even have a general idea of a build for when she hits Grenadier. Whoa, I actually planned ahead. :P (do I really put ':P' a lot? I didn't notice but someone pointed it out. Odd. Maybe I feel/felt really sarcastic? *shrugs*)
