Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (movie)

(This is the first of... possibly several posts I'm trying to catch up with. RPoL takes so much of my writing energy that it's hard to write here!)

I went and saw this movie with Jon not once, but twice in the theaters recently. That said, it is one of my favorite, possibly MOST favorite book to movie conversions of the Harry Potter series.

I am really looking forward to the two parts of Deathly Hallows. I can only imagine that they will be very dark, very bleak and powerful movies. I suppose that excites me because I'm a morbid person to begin with, even though I did enjoy all the humor of Half-Blood Prince!

However, I would imagine that non-fans would be bored by the 6th movie (there weren't a ton of action scenes, many more dialogue scenes and even scenes where few if any words were spoken.) And fans would be upset that certain parts of the books were cut.

Burn Notice! And another "past few days" recap.

Jon and I are watching Burn Notice. It's a TV series that's part spy-show with action and occasional drama, and part comedy. Oddly, it kind of half reminds me of Macgyver with more spy elements, guns, and sexy chicks in bikinis. :D It's brilliant. Also the main character's inner monologues about what spies should or shouldn't do keeps making me think of Seventeen ALL the time. XD

It is awesome! And made even more awesome because L.E. Modesitt Jr., the author of the Recluce books (one of my all time most favorite fantasy series, if you don't already know) recommended it. Actually, it was 'cause of his review that Jon and I bought the Burn Notice DVDs instead of the Fringe, which is apparently kind of lackluster.

That's disappointing :( Kind of reminds me how Alias ended up disappointing after having such an AMAZING start. (Spoilers coming, if you were actually planning on watching Alias, ever.)

Sicky :( bad spammers & Quantum of Solace.

Actually, I'm getting better now. But yesterday I was pretty sick, and it sucked! I just sat here and ate a lot and drank a lot of fluids and took medicine. My body's already fought most of it off by today which is neat.

Poor Jon was sick longer than me. But he didn't even get any medicine. :( I should have bought it for him before but I was still all agoraphobic. I'm making him take the rest of my medicine now though.

Also: You people who are using my posts about sexual addiction to advertise an escort service are really messed up, k? I mean, that's like going to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting with a bunch of booze! "Hey guys, drink this! Your addiction needs quenching!!" :D :D I'm finding my CAPTCHA isn't deterring these, I had 3 distinct cases of this occurring. I will continue to erase them personally though, and if need be take greater measures!

Tonight's incest theme. o.O

So, Kalli wrote me a late birthday present. :O

It's a ficlet! It also so happens to have some yuri in it. ^^ (Winry/Sheska, from Fullmetal Alchemist. Thooough, it also implies some Ed/Al -- yaoi AND incest, whoo -- as it follows the events of her other FMA fic, Agapē.) The dedication she wrote in the beginning is *really* touching, too... I truly appreciated it. Never thought I'd say "YAY my friend gave me yuri as a present." XD

Anyway, all that babble aside, here is the fic: Treading on Dreams. OH and both fics I just linked are FMA-spoily so beware!

Following on the odd and unexpected incest theme is this lil IRC log from a few hours ago that amused me. XD (I'm Mieu, and Minna is my RL sister, just so you understand).

Passing the time...

Playing video games, as usual. Doesn't help anything, I know that, but at least keeps me from thinking about depressing things. =_=

So here's some video game rambling.
