sims 3

I suck at being punctual for trips...

Cause I'm not used to being without a computer. Need laptop nao?

I feel silly 'cause I just sat here and played a buttload of Sims 3, finished a last rpol post, made sure my facebook apps wouldn't explode without me hovering over them (mostly just cleared some fields and fed my pet :P) and now am writing this.

And then find out that there's DR invasions, grr. Hello, Simu, stop making invasions while I have things to do. thx, Talliska.

Anyway, I have this list of Sims 3 things to do and need to write it down.
- Estrella and Elasul need to fall in love! (Damn, they're both so shy!)
- Mellauna needs 2 more best friends to finish one of the Charisma challenges.
- Mellauna and Suurnis are going to have a baby. (And she's eating a lot of apples. Needs to be a son, Nardoan.)
- More vacations!! Haven't been to Shang Simla yet. :D (Atma and Iluun went to SimEgypt, Oira and Reva went to SimFrance.) Want to review World Adventures, it's REALLY good.
- EVENTUALLY I will start aging all the kids up, once Nardoan passes toddler years. n.n

...gah, I need to nap! But gotta go!! :) See you all on the 5th-ish.

Incredibly busy lately.

I've been working with hostforweb to try and speed up my site. There were some memory errors lately, which I think have been fixed. I'm not sure about whether the speed is better though.

What I really want is a Xen VPS... Unfortunately I don't think hostforweb has those. But I'm also kind of iffy about moving my entire site without testing the server first. I know, I got slicehost for that. But I'm so lazy with it that I think I'll have to cancel and wait until I have more time to think about webstuff. Besides the fact that I'm not really confident moving my site to slicehost, as it feels more appropriate as a testing environment.

Roleplay and writing have been my main time foci lately, beyond worrying about things like reapplying for college (which I may wait till January to do now, as I've been told no one looks at the files anyway until after holidays), and whether I really will get my passport on Nov 25 (it would not surprise me if I'm getting jerked around again, geez). Oh and ordering new wedding bands and planning our little vacation for our 5th annversary (we'll be gone from Dec 17th-21st).

We also made a few purchases lately that have been entertaining and fun.

:(

What might have been an otherwise nice break was ruined by my new check card (which I received only a few days ago) having some sort of glitch and nearly keeping me from being able to pay for last night's dinner.

It made me very upset and insecure. I wish I had another source of money. :(

Supposedly it should be fixed by tomorrow but I'm very angry about it still. First the bank sends me a card with a mistaken expiration date. Then there's some sort of Visa "network glitch" the first time I actually use the card. Now I'm paranoid it's just not going to work at all and I'll have no source of money at all.

It's supposed to still work for my online fees regardless, but it still makes me upset that these apparent circumstances are conspiring to make me very insecure and miserable.

I live... I really do!

I just felt kinda bad about my site for a while because I couldn't get the server upgrade I wanted, so the migration nver actually happened. :( Apparently it isn't available yet, and someone else had misinformed me. Meh. I mean, I COULD get it if I went and moved my site to a new web host, but... I'm not keen on moving from where I've been a customer since 2001. It'd have to take some pretty bad service.

I may eventually consider it, though, but it'd have to be after a lot of research and with some free time for me to move things properly. I don't envision myself having much free time for months, if not years, so I am going to stick with what I've got unless slow website loading starts to bug me again. Eventually I should be able to get my upgrade!

More about my new uni.

I'm actually impressed by the computer science program at Concordia. I found out belatedly that the university supposedly has the largest CS faculty in all of Canada! I'm pretty sure the program teaches Java, though I've not confirmed that. The recent changes in class curriculum have made me strongly suspect that, though. (Object-Oriented Programming I and II?)

One thing I'm quite pleased by is that there's two new Computer Science options: Computer Games and Web Services/Applications. They only popped up this year! So I arranged my 3 year schedule to account for a switch to Web Services. It's awesome how many options Concordia offers to refine my CS degree, but most of all I'm just fired up that there's actually three levels of up-to-date Web programming courses at Concordia. San Jose State had nothing on the curriculum offered here -- which is rather sad when you consider it's supposed to be in the heart of the Silicon Valley.

Gettin' tired so I should write more later. Maybe including my Sims 3 review! It's every bit as awesome as I imagined it'd be -- with a few snags. I'll explain when I have the time and inspiration!
