reborn again

A week of ups and downs. But mostly up, I hope.

Good stuff:
- Got in all my classes at Concordia! Getting my student ID next week.
- Seems like I'll be getting access to my gov't compensation by Aug 13. Crossing my fingers it's not just another false date.
- Cool friends in Dragonrealms. :) Fun RP moments, and Manze did something very cool tonight (last night? coffee at 4 am is bad) for the Order.
- Selina moved for college and is in my timezone now! Yay! I'm really stoked about this.
- Maybe getting some inspiration back. I recently re-read Reborn Again in preparation for the continuation I promised months ago.
- Bought some exercise stuff, and may join a gym! Oooh.

Not-so-good stuff:
- Headache/sinus thing is not going away. Got an appointment to get eye exam and new glasses in case it's that.
- Still sad I had to give up RPoL, but I'm just tired of forcing it.
- Some stressful drama now and then. I find that I need a lot of space lately so I've been less present in my usual haunts.
- I missed getting a hold of Selina before she moved! Silly stuff keeping me busy and away from her. :(

Oh I've done it now...

Utena/Anthy hurt/comfort fic. I read one earlier today and got all "eeee~" about it.

I find it amusing that those two have to be one of my favorite couples in anime OF ALL TIME </kanye> but they're two girls. And I still consider myself straight!

Anyway, I never really thought their gender really mattered. In Revolutionary Girl Utena, that matters way less than the feelings between the characters. As I'm sure I've said before, I think that's what I like about it. Love that transcends gender. That concept has always fascinated me way more than loving, or being attracted to the male gender.

Lately I have been thinking again about my ideas to continue Reborn Again. How I wish there was enough energy and inspiration in my body to do that now! I still need to heal, mentally, though. Everyone's worried about me, because I'm always so worn out, to the point I can't even keep up with my games and I have to keep taking mini-breaks from Dragonrealms.

I had the most awesome Reborn Again idea just now.

Recently I got an email from someone who read Reborn Again and had hoped it would be finished by now.

Unfortunately I've never really ever gotten the drive to do the rewrite. I had... I don't know, an INCREDIBLE amount of writing for RA. 500-600 pages worth. And the rewrite? It would've been even longer than that just to get back to the point I was on.

I had a thought just now that I could still try to continue more or less where I left off. Something of a reboot of the Oasis City portion of the story, except written with all the changes I had in mind for the series. Basically, it'd be like starting the second or third book in a trilogy, after which I could go back and RE-write all the parts that came before.

I'm completely and utterly excited about this. It could mean I may finally break my RA block and finish the story as written in my head. Then rewrite / polish up / add to the past chapters and bam, have a Reborn Again trilogy (realistically this could be years of work, of course!)

Seriously I think this may not be a fluke. I may actually be able to finish. o.o

I live... I really do!

I just felt kinda bad about my site for a while because I couldn't get the server upgrade I wanted, so the migration nver actually happened. :( Apparently it isn't available yet, and someone else had misinformed me. Meh. I mean, I COULD get it if I went and moved my site to a new web host, but... I'm not keen on moving from where I've been a customer since 2001. It'd have to take some pretty bad service.

I may eventually consider it, though, but it'd have to be after a lot of research and with some free time for me to move things properly. I don't envision myself having much free time for months, if not years, so I am going to stick with what I've got unless slow website loading starts to bug me again. Eventually I should be able to get my upgrade!

OMG! (for Shining Force fans!)

Shining Force Feather for the DS.

This is pretty much the Shining Force for those of us who lamented the fact there hasn't been an actual tactical SF game since Shining Force 3. :O

Some wikipedia info!

Jon said the gameplay kinda sounds like a mix of classic Shining Force and Valkyrie Profile. With movement a lot more like Phantom Brave. I mean, is this game made for me or what. ^^;

Also, the character designs look very, very cool. The only thing I will be sad at is that there'll be bunches of people who end up getting all attracted to the character art, rather than the characters themselves. Usually from downloading the art on image boards, or in doujinshi. (This has happened with Shining Tears, Luminous Arc, etc.)
