Dark Spire is awesome.

Whoa birthdays. Eni's was yesterday but I was out all day. And today's is Selina's and Lumi's. I'm sending birthday wishes all over the place.

Still feel rather sad I'm not sending gifts because I like being generous, but right now being generous may not be a good idea. Still no financial aid yet and Jon is just starting a new job at the end of this month.

On the other hand I DID spend *some* money as I had some left over... namely, to get Dark Spire. FINALLY. XD And Jon bought some music CDs which I will talk about later.

Dark Spire is just... totally awesome so far. Mmmmm challenging dungeon crawlers. The premise is very simple (go to the top of the tower, kill the bad sorcerer, get back the treasure--it's very Nethack-ish actually), and the gameplay seems deceptively simple as well. But this game totally does NOT handhold you through much at all. Even the tutorial had this attitude of "just DO IT already, stop asking questions!" which amused me to no end.

More Tower Revival info (x-post from LJ)

Since I wrote most of the Tower Revival stuff while COMPLETELY sleep deprived, I went and elaborated a bit about the project earlier today. I posted to LJ first -- now I'm pasting it here, so I have it saved in my database.

More info should be forthcoming in the next couple weeks. The new Tower forum itself won't actually appear until sometime in January. Along with the usual introduction, rules and setting threads, I'll have a subforum available to personally walk people through the character creation process.

I also want to read up on some non-core FFRPG rules. I'd like to potentially include subjobs, maybe even limit breaks. I also had an idea to allow PCs to start with some innate traits above and beyond what they get from chargen or job. (An example I had is allowing Ryshy to spend HP instead of MP to heal others, to simulate her 'empathicness'. Also, Kazuki's shapeshifting could count as an innate trait.) I think it'll end up being one passive trait and one active one, meaning you actually have to pay some extra cost to activate it.

Resting day.

So I've been letting myself rest... it's nice. ^^

Today I've just been playing Etrian Odyssey 2, messing with DR and chatting with peoples.

I found out there is interest in me making a Tower Between Worlds MUD again. :O It looks like it might be based on Smaug, which happens to be one of the types of muds I've never played. Figures! It's more of the hack n' slash type, so there will be actual potential for combat and character advancement, unlike previous Tower projects. *boggles at this*

But it'll be a small project, more like a playground for a few of us to mess with building and writing descriptions and such. Mostly it'll be Eni and Kalli and me, it looks like. Maybe others if there is interest.

Dunno yet when it'll be set up -- probably next month? Or Sept? So let me know if working on Tower MUD interests you.

Monday was... not so good

So... I'll be back on Thursday.

Just hiding around here messing with Dragonrealms (training Talliska in serpents and vipers now. Owie, viper poison! But I've gotten lots of combat and skinning ranks!) And poking at RPoL posts (I keep making charsheets for games that don't run... helps me practice learning Ex2 rules, I guess).

Other than that I've been coming up with a new idea for a RP for Jon and me. Actually, it's not new so much as a... retelling of something old.

More or less, I'm trying to rewrite Exalted Ryshy's history. I left ADoA and I don't want to mess with anything Col or the other players created, but I still like that particular version of the character and her history. So I'm doing a sort of "Belladonna Revival", I guess you could say.

FFXIII! And some PSU ramble.

(Focusing on non-immigration things is probably good for my mental health right now, so here we go!)

I am actually looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII now. For many reasons, but I think the one pleasing me most right now is that the main character is a totally badass woman. Also, the game is rather sci-fi-ish and military oriented... yeah, that'll make one think "like FF8!?!?" but... no. Not really like FF8 at all. :O

Also I have to find out more about that blond guy with the headscarf in the trailer I watched. Whut, he totally looks like some sort of mix of Shirai and Iluun. Hee~! *fangirls a bit* I was telling Jon I can totally appreciate the main char (whose code name is apparently Lightning) for being a fighgunner. :D Though technically what she wields is some sort of gunblade--except it switches between being a gun or a blade, it isn't both at once. Or something.

I don't know what else to put in this box yet. So Ryshy says hi! :)
