I've been fumbling over houseruling Excellencies for Ex2. I really would like to retain the dice "schticks" that each of the Exalt types got in Ex1 but... it's kind of hard to do, AND keep things balanced. Namely, I have been trying to redo the Third Excellency, because I would like rerollers to stay with Dragon-blooded.

Oh -- before I go on, I should mention that I'm thinking of running Ex2 with "Free Combos" rather than Free Reflexives. That is, one can use multiple Charms per turn for a surcharge of 1 WP. The use of these Charms will be subject to Combo rules, of course (i.e., if you use a Supplemental with an EA Charm, the Supp. must be used on all EAs). Also, Dragon-blooded get to waive the WP charge for Reflexives only, and the Essence Flow permacharm (for Solars) waives it for Excellencies only.

I know everyone I play with is all gung-ho about FRs for everyone, so maybe people would hate this idea. But that's what I want to try, because I hate having to create pre-paid, pre-made Combos. It blooows. Also this houserule may allow me to attract Ex2 players that'd be off-put by full on FRs for everyone. But anyway, on to the Excellencies:

Expedient Blade Style. It sucks.

Though I didn't actually think it was that bad until no one really had anything good to say about it. I mean. It's okay. But... it's... okay? As little fluff I put on it, I actually put thought into the mechanics and how the charms interacted. Maybe NOT so much thought on how it could interact with Melee charms though. Basically with Melee charms it would just save you some on dice adders. :P And add some other effects... more speed, piercing strikes... the pinnacle is unparriable. :P

I liked that Selina at least asked things about mechanics because that gives me something to work with. =_= I can be sensitive to criticism because I'm really shy about things I work on, but I still listen and consider people's opinions. In the end though, people have differing ideas of what makes a good MA, I guess.

I want to join a forum RP and I'm thinking of it being this one. Exalted 2nd edition open ended Solar game. Actually there's a Lunar (which Jon wants to play) and DB branch also, but anyway... I wanted to make a version of the Siren for it, as an Eclipse. Less of an artificier, though, and more of a diplomat to the Wyld.

Dunno when I'll have time to write the sheet / details though, given latest events + other sheets to do first. I'm close to done with Annika's, just deciding on boons/birthrights (argh, hard!) and might write a custom spell or two. Clarissa needs a lot more work, though I'm waiting for Selina to finalize the chargen info.

AND! I might end up writing Clarissa a MA. Again. =_= I'm not SURE though, because it takes so much time for me to write MAs out. But there just aren't any good sword ones that suit my tastes and I don't think Selina is allowing Violet Bier. SO! Yeah. We'll see. I do have a week before I know whether I have to move the hell out of Canada or not, so I'll write what I can until then!

Also, I altered Ruin Dancer Style a bit, too. I keep trying to justify the addition to Eternal Beat of Blood by saying that it doesn't really add anything to your dodges unless dodging is your ONLY action in the turn. [Edit: I've changed Ruin Dancer since this post; it gives reflexive dodges equal to Performance, now.]

Barring any complaints from Eni (or anyone else who might want to look this over) I think I am done with it though. Don't wanna touch it any more. ;.; Though I might write a bio, later. She's an Aegean mercenary, and Jon's char is her partner, basically.
