ace attorney

Teehee. RPing relationships between characters with my husband is like falling in love all over again. I swear, it ought to be a technique for gamer couples to keep the romance alive. ^^; (And I apologize for how utterly dorky that sounds.)

My characterization of Iyadali, I think, borrows a bit from the witches of Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea, and a bit from Wheel of Time as well (though Iya and her culture are definitely not as irritating as the Sea Folk can be.)

I also have to admit to taking a tiny bit of a cue from Nynaeve and Lan -- sort of. :O

Man... what a long day. I hardly slept at all, only 2 hours... I fought with and failed to get over my insomnia, for the most part. So I was really, really tired throughout the day, and we had to do a LOT of waiting at the airport.

8:30 am: Left for the bus station to head to Montreal. We got there 45 minutes early so just had some breakfast and hung around a while.

9:30 am: Started bus trip to Montreal. I played a little Etrian Odyssey (JUST made it to floor B10 with Alexsei, Atma, Suurnis, Ryshy and Sanahra before I got tired. Geez... I'm so slow with this game ^^) but slept the rest of the way.

I hate leaving one of my depressing posts at the top of the page for too long, so it's time to post before bed. :P

Well, today is Friday, woo Friday! Here's some more things I want to do.
- Poke at starting Soul Collectors page? :O Maybe...
- Some more tweaking of Ruin Dancer Style, though I'm kind of lost as to how much more I can tweak without actually testing it.
- Possibly go n' get copies of Ex2: Dragon-blooded and Ex2: Sidereals, 'cause I hate reading rules stuff on PDFs.
- Possibly run Milena/Diamel ED scene! YAY Diamel. You know what, I realized totally belatedly that I based Diamel's looks on Klavier Gavin from Ace Attorney 4. WTF! Totally didn't notice until now!
- PSU~! It's PSU night, yay. I hope there'll be people who want to play, anyway.
- Read some more of that RP book Fiat sent me. Artesia: Adventures in the Known World. I don't know much to say about it yet except "whoa, history." There's a LOT of history, and names related to said history, in the first part of the book. @.@

The news is all over the place that Gary Gygax passed away at age 69. The father of D&D is gone... huh. The tributes I've seen thus far (including some clever webcomic ones) have been very touching.

R.I.P. Mr. Gygax.

Right now I'm downloading Mabinogi, since open beta just began today, but more about that in a bit.

On the video game topic, Jon surprised me today by coming home with DS games. Guess he got paid recently and he wanted to cheer me up. It was dampened a bit by the fact he went and delivered the immigration papers but he forgot to get me to sign the most important part (my letter). The agent said it didn't matter but... I still want her to have a signed copy. It's just important to me.

The title has nothing to do with this post! Except that we were listening to Blood Brothers while playing some PSU.

Before I go on with that I'll remind people it's Jon's birthday today~! I'm happy, Jon received the second half of his present from me (Ace Attorney 3! YES!) with Friday's mail. We're going to go and snuggle up in bed and play it once I'm done with this entry.

It being Jon's birthday also means that I'll be gone most of the day, I want to give Jon as much attention as I can on his day. ^^; I feel a little worried though, because a couple of my friends are going through difficult times right now... and I would like to be there to talk. Sometimes makes me wish I could divide myself into more than one person, so I could be there for everyone. I guess that's just part of my nature... to want to help that much. Sometimes I probably try too hard. :/

So Ryshia died again (in ADOM). Damnit! She was level 15 and died in the Caverns of Chaos. I found yet another monster vault... or lair... what're they? The ones that have lots of monsters but no artifacts... anyway! I found yet another one of many I found as Ryshia, except this one had mixed critters in it. Got a little too cocky and ran in, and what do you know?! I meet a master mimic. Paralyzed and died. ;.;

This was just below the Dwarven town by the way. Man, I've so lost my ADOM mojo... haven't gotten a char as far as the water temple in ages. :/ But it's harder now that I've sworn off save scumming. Sometimes you just get impatient or daring, and then... whoops! You're ded. :P
