I'm back! (Anima: Beyond Fantasy :D)

...and I had a great meal (mmm, calamari, and linguine al vongole... yeah, I like my seafood). We came back with a 6 pack of Guinness and I am probably going to get buzzed, haha. Go Asian alcohol tolerance! :P

I also bought the Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG book. I'm actually really excited about trying it. I've had my eye on this book for a little while now and I think it may be even better suited for Reborn Again (with a little fudging of course, since it's more fantasy than modern, and would need some race additions possibly). Even if not, I think I like the system/setting enough that I might like to run it for some other original concept.

It's a game that has an anime feel, but isn't anime from the foreign fan's point of view, which is kinda what stuff like BESM and Exalted feel like now and then. (Exalted, to this day, names Ninja Scroll as an inspiration, and that makes me VERY VERY sad. Ugh.)

I think that's part of what makes Anima appealing. It actually kinda feels more like manga than anime, if that makes any sense. o.o The system is a d100/d10, and there are two different kinds of rolls (I think skill checks are mostly d100, but there's these other types of checks with the d10s where lower is actually better. I have to look at it more closely!) There's a bunch of interesting starter races and classes, with the option to build your own if you wish. And the creation system doesn't seem nearly as confusing and tedious as BESM, at least on first glance.

Anyway, if I run this I really think it will start with a tiny group. :O I actually want to run it for Jon and Selina first, ideally, so I'm kinda hoping she'll bite. Hehe. Selling a new system is always hard! And it'll be tough because I am rather picky about who I run games for. Especially if it's going to be real time rather than forum, which I *think* this might be. I want people who will be interested and *stay* interested, and won't make a character just 'cause they're in a phase where they like a particular thing, and get bored with it later. ^^;

But Anima looks so fun. And shiny! *hugs her shiny book* Also, for some reason when I looked through it, I got this feeling Selina would like it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I at least had to give it a shot!

Anyway, time to try and write my RPoL posts for the night. I completely forgot that tomorrow is U.S. Thanksgiving, though. Up here in Canada it's celebrated last month (and it's actually not as much a custom to celebrate it in Quebec province, for some reason). So I may end up with slow posts for the weekend. Oh noooo, I'll be so bored. :P I suppose that gives me time to look up stuff for Anima, though, and get some planning done, and maybe even work on more personal stuff. Who knows?

Well I'm still very interested in Reborn Again and playing the character I came up with. D: Although I'm not in that initial lineup, hopefully I can be later, I guess?
