Going out! also DR, RP babble

Sorta... I mean it's not a big deal, just going to the mall to get the D&D 4e books and maybe a bite to eat.

Speaking of 4e, I ran some of Roguelike Adventures and Kalli really liked it ^^ So that was nice to know. She said I'm better than 90% of the DMs she's played with, but then again, most of those games were face to face, not online. Online is a very different animal, I've found.

But I am apparently good at creating suspense on the fly, at least in writing. :O

What I'm not so good at is figuring out when to call a skill check, or coming up with appropriate DCs for 'em. I may have to put Exalted-ish house rules because I boggle at the idea of 1) binary failing or succeeding, rather than levels of success or failure, 2) not being able to reward players for making creative posts (i.e. stunt bonus).

Also, Talliska got circle 33! YAY! While running the game yesterday, I was scripting pretty much the *whole* time. Wow. My scripts are *great*. I have a l33t one I wrote from scratch for climbing/foraging/scouting, and one for swimming the Faldesu (it has magic and lore training built in while my swimming experience drains). I have a plain foraging one that also has a bit for mech lore (bow carving). I have a lore training one that trains vocals (humming), appraisal (app gem pouch, armors), scholarship/first aid (study compendium), mech lore (origami). Actually, a lot of my scripts have humming built in, because mmmm, TDPs (aka Time Development Points, the points that you use to raise stats in DR!)

So now I'm totally this DR scriptoholic. ^^; I better not get too much into it, because then I'll get lazy to train combat. I neeeever script combat, ew!

Oh, before I go I also wanted to mention: looks like I'm going to definitely do an Exalted forum RP with Wally. Yay! I think we may be starting with a more traditional game, though, rather than the Soul Collectors setting (which we will still play later, of course). So that means I'll be using canon setting and some light houserules.

If anyone else is interested in a slow-ish forum RP (as in, minimum 1 post every other day) to help my friend learn Exalted, let me know! More specifically, we'll be running Ex2, so also keep that in mind.
