Well that's done with... also, fail!quest.

Well, RP cleanup is done for now. Yeah. I've got s'more time to myself I guess. I probably could have handled it a LOT better, but what's done is done. (I just feel bad because it's my fault for inconveniencing everyone, again.)

Yesterday (Weds) I spent a very LONG part of the day trying to help Jon get Alexsei through his resurrection quest in DR, along with a couple of friends (Halcier and Terra).

Let me just say, this quest could not have failed harder than it did last night. :O First, Halcier ended up dying. We WERE going to get Alexsei to just finish the quest and resurrect him, but he lost a critical item needed to finish it (not his fault, I think he just had the item on him a little too long, and it auto-destructed). So Terra and I tried to get help, but then the HELP died -- and when I and another friend went to help them, WE died.

Meanwhile, Alexsei ended up falling down a waterfall while trying to cross an underground river, and dying in the caverns below. I mean... seriously. Failing down the waterfall~!

One GOOD thing about the quest is that I realized that Talliska doesn't totally suck. I mean, okay, she still DIED, but that was against critters that also killed a circle 60 warrior mage (and my ranger is only circle 30). She was actually being very Rangery, getting people through watery passages and helping people climb and such. I really like playing Ranger. :D

On the other hand, Talliska still has plenty of training ahead of her. If I could have dragged Halcier's body across the river, this whole thing would've been a lot easier, but I didn't have even CLOSE to enough skill for it. His body ended up stuck in a VERY nasty, very hostile area, and at least 4 others died to help him (and then get help in turn). Ouch!

Alexsei himself got the worst of it, though. He ended up dying a total of 3 times. *wince* But Jon felt SO bad about getting everyone ELSE killed on his quest that he almost didn't want to re-try it! I think Terra actually thought she was going to die there permanently, or at least lose all of her equipment and such. It was pretty tense there for a while, but we all got out okay, and no one's mad about the deaths. It was quite an adventure, both humbling and motivating to train harder!

That said, I need to train Talliska's magic, really bad. ^^; And get more of her survival skills above 100!

I think we're going to try again soon-ish, too. During the rescue mission (which quite honestly took *hours* of real time waiting there, hoping someone would actually COME) we met a really nice dwarven war mage who's apparently all gung-ho about helping Alexsei do it again. He even offered to take Alexsei alone. Maybe this would be a better way than having more of us there who could die and slow down the quest.

Meanwhile, I just feel like training the heck out of Talliska now, while I still have time! I want to be able to help in rescue missions like this one, rather than just be another corpse. Wow. One day, she'll be just as awesome. :D
