PSU break

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 18 May 2008 in Characters, Online Games, Friends

Somewhere between all the writing and research yesterday (and early today), I got to squeeze in a PSU break. Clark and Jim finally have access to the game again. :O Actually, what happened is that Sega screwed up their billing database so horribly that they're now offering people to play the PC/PS2 version of PSU for a whole free month, while they figure things out. So they didn't actually *fix* the problem, just allowed people like my poor friends to play again. :P

Incidentally, or so Clark told me, anyone who wants to try PSU (or return to it) can try PSU free for the month. More importantly -- for me, at least -- I finally got to tackle Maximum Attack G with a full party! Yay!

It was a lot of fun. Jim switched back to Fortefighter, Clark to Protranser, and Jon to Fortegunner (after gettin Guntecher to 10, since he wants to play a Gunmaster when master classes come out, and that's one of the reqs.) With me playing Fighgunner, we were all playing at our best. We kept clearing the S-rank version of Max G in less than an hour, including the entire Ruins block and the optional Program DF (Dark Falz) at the very end. Before that Jon and I were playing as a pair, and it took something like 2 hours to do that, sheesh! o.o

I've been finding that the drop rate for Max G missions is rather disappointing, though. :/ I realize rares are rares, but nowadays, 10* weapons really aren't all THAT special. I'd like to see them drop a little more often, honestly! I did get a Mugunruk (10* spear) board, though. And a Silence/Resist unit. Not all that bad, for drops, though I envied Jim for getting a 10* slicer board. I want one! ;.;

I'm not even playing for experience any more. Reina is now level 119. Crazy. I'm expecting to hit the cap before Max G is over, since it's been extended by 2 weeks. That's fine though... I'll feel a little better if people can finally *catch up* to me. But I don't really think level is all that important in PSU, anyway. Especially when you're going up against level 140 creatures and the cap is level 130. But besides that, high level doesn't guarantee you'll completely own a level. PSU was built to be advantageous for multiplayer -- though, that doesn't bar playing solo. You just need even more skill and patience to solo.

She's also Fighgunner 19, sheesh. I'm waffling between switching to Fortefighter or Guntecher after. Maybe even Protranser, heh! :P Right now I'm leaning towards Fortefighter 'cause I think the group might actually need more heavy hitting melee people. But I wouldn't underestimate guntechers... they're great at support but also at dishing long range damage, with what I consider the best selection of ranged weapons in the game.

Not sure the next time I'll be able to play. I can hope it'll be soon ;.; but it may not be, given that people have work and I will probably spend the entirety of the coming week working on / stressing over Soul Collectors on the 24th. Oh well, as long as I get enough Gold Badges to get my DB Line before Max G is over, I'm fine. :P
