Rosalia's beginnings, and lots of DR!

Well, yesterday I was supposed to RP with Nekira, my first game with Rosalia! But it ended up getting cut short 'cause I had to finalize my sheet in the afternoon (took FOREVER to figure out my Legends) -- and then, when we finally GOT started, Nekira ended up having computer problems while we had a dinner break. Oops. ^^; We still talked a lot, though, and the few posts she got through were fun and descriptive, so I'm looking forward to more.

Also, the sudden end of Nekigame (it has another name, probably... but I'm not sure what it is yet :D) gave me the time to do Talliska's interview with the Order of the White Rose. :o Apparently she did pretty well, from the reaction I got. I got to meet Mialeigh in game some time after that too, which is awesome! Mialeigh rules! :D I missed her and her player, too, whom I've been chatting with more lately on AIM. Our lives have changed and progressed a lot, but we still chat as easily as if it was 3 years ago. I LOVE that.

It's pretty fun to actually have a reason to log into DR again that isn't just endless training, too. Though, to tell the truth, Mialeigh's return and my application to the Order has made me want to train a lot more. Talliska's going for her 29th circle now, which includes a spell slot, yay! I'm going to get her Caiman Swim so I can help her swimming skill catch up to her other survivals. (All of them are in mid-late 80s, except swimming which is nearing 70 ranks.)

And in terms of hunting I've got Talliska up in the rocky outcropping brawling and slashing at young ogres now. Funny how much better my ranger is at this skill level compared to Atma when I trained her as a barb the first time. She's holding her own -- though it helps a lot that I finally went and bought Talliska some cheap ranger-made stuff. A superior gargoyle hide leathers set, and a crocodile-skin shield. They're both stronger and lighter than what she had before, so it's helped a lot in absorbing those nasty ogre mace blows.

Still need to get Talliska some ranger-tanned head/neck/eye armor and gloves, though. The ogres are still stunning her with head shots and hand shots sometimes. Fortunately, though, she tends to shake off the stun quickly, and is fast enough that I can usually retreat once I can reestablish solid balance.

She did die once in ogres though. That was my fault, I should've had her hide when she got a third ogre attacking her from behind. But I was stubborn, wanted to see whether she'd survive (and she didn't. Oops.)

Ideally, I'd be trying to get her parry and shield (about 83) more even with evasion (nearly 100) but it's harder to do against the harder hitting creatures. It's better to go against swarms of less-damaging foes, like the vines and creepers up in Theren or the river caiman I tried in Throne City. But Throne City is too far away from Crossings, and the Order of the White Rose is based there, so I'm trying to make do. ^^; Least until I know what my status is in the Order.

And if I endure long enough to get Talliska's shield and parry to 90 or so, I should do just fine against ogres and wolves, so I just have to be patient... and careful.

Hmmm, I think today (Friday) is going to be a pretty lazy day. I'll probably go exercise for a bit, but other than that, I'll play more DR, maybe watch over the Emberdays mini that Grey and Kraken are doing, probably field some questions about Soul Collectors too (I heard from the player creating the Lunar today, hopefully I'll help him get his sheet done soon), and then I can play a bunch of PSU with the usual group at night. As much DR as I've been playing, I'm excited for some more Max Attack G! I wouldn't miss out on this event for anything! :D

Maybe I'm starting to get the balance back in my life again? Who knows. Anyway, for now things are looking okay, after some shakiness a few days before. Maybe I'll write about it later.
