Argh.... *falls over*

I tried to stay up till 8 am writing out stuff for Ember Days and I didn't even finish it all. I'm all ticked off again. I was forced to postpone because I was too damn tired and sick when I woke up. Jon kept nagging me to just go back to bed. D: So in the end I did. x.x

I didn't really have a choice anyway, because when I've got like... 20+ outfits to conceptualize and I've not written a single one, and I've got to come up with all that on the spot while my head is throbbing and I'm cranky and nodding off in my chair, it's just NOT going to work. Sure, I wasn't planning to do most of the outfits in much detail, but I still had to at least write cues for myself, plus the detailed ones for the GMPC (Sana), the accompanying NPCs (Elyssa, Najira and Lotus... though I already wrote Lotus's in a previous scene) and the host (Mnemon Daran, who is an elder Earth Aspect closing in on 200 years old, and I think is going to be a rather interesting character, at least to me).

And on top of that I still had to come up with a couple more names for some of the guests. I don't really have a reliable Dynast name generator that I *like*. And because Dynast names are not totally predictable (MANY of them are cvcvcv, as Kraken pointed out to me, but there are notable ones that are NOT, including some of the Great House names -- I mean, Mnemon, Peleps, Nellens? you've even got a "th" sound in Cathak... and so on) I don't want to fall into a pattern of always using the same rules for naming.

I know it's rather dorky to obsess over names, but I don't want to just choose something stupid sounding for characters that may end up recurring later. I did choose some characters from canon to specifically be at the party (Peleps Damanchina for example, I always liked her... Cynis Belar Norren -- hawt! -- and um, some others ^^) but there were many "positions" left to fill. I'm unsure there will be any Masters of House there though, because they're mostly QUITE busy at the moment. Some of the lesser known ones, maaaybe.

What did I spent most of my time on last night, though? Writing the Manse description. Yep. I suck at writing place descriptions, actually. I never know all the proper words for doing it so I have to do a lot of looking up parts of houses, or fudging around to figure out how to describe it even without the proper term. :P Also, I have a high aesthetic level so I always put plenty of detail into location descriptions in RP. I want the place to reflect the person who owns it, basically. I was going for a particular style for Daran's Manse and it took me a lot of googling to put it together (I found a couple of GORGEOUS pages to refer to).

Mostly the description was to give a summary of all the available rooms in the manse, though. Fortunately the party is a salon, not a gala, so I can afford to be a little more informal with the way the party is put together. The one thing I am most worried about is that the party will be too unfocused -- though I do have things planned. I just wanted to start it with giving the PCs a chance to actually socialize.

Anyway, god, I can't even think straight right now. I WISH I could have run today but I just couldn't make it. I shouldn't make a big deal about it, except that I'm really keen on getting through Calibration by the end of the year, 'cause I don't know I'll even be able to run ED every week once I'm back in college. Preparing and running games takes a LOT of attention and effort out of me, which will have to go to my studies and endless debugging, most likely. :P

I'll have to work on ED again towards the end of the week though. I am NOT doing anything if I can help it on Tues. And Weds. is just going to be me relaxing and poking at Rosalia's sheet, which I've told Nekira I want to finish on Thurs. (I actually owed her that sheet LAST week, but she's been very understanding, and I'm glad for that.) I just have to make sure I at least take a few hours in a day (maybe Fri? Sat?) sitting down and actually writing out those outfits. :o

I'm really sorry for the ED delays though. Delaying the Monday sessions is something I want to do only rarely. :x But, I suck and drove my mind and body too far without resting enough, so... *shrugs* that's that.
