It's Friday! Some RP and Monster (anime) babble ^^
I hate leaving one of my depressing posts at the top of the page for too long, so it's time to post before bed. :P
Well, today is Friday, woo Friday! Here's some more things I want to do.
- Poke at starting Soul Collectors page? :O Maybe...
- Some more tweaking of Ruin Dancer Style, though I'm kind of lost as to how much more I can tweak without actually testing it.
- Possibly go n' get copies of Ex2: Dragon-blooded and Ex2: Sidereals, 'cause I hate reading rules stuff on PDFs.
- Possibly run Milena/Diamel ED scene! YAY Diamel. You know what, I realized totally belatedly that I based Diamel's looks on Klavier Gavin from Ace Attorney 4. WTF! Totally didn't notice until now!
- PSU~! It's PSU night, yay. I hope there'll be people who want to play, anyway.
- Read some more of that RP book Fiat sent me. Artesia: Adventures in the Known World. I don't know much to say about it yet except "whoa, history." There's a LOT of history, and names related to said history, in the first part of the book. @.@
The past few days were pretty uneventful. Oh, I ran the first part of Iesan's intro on Weds. Apparently Grey really liked it, though I'm not sure I did... Also, I really need to tweak the colors I used for the NPCs there. They keep coming out too faint on my monitor, damnit. D:
Mostly, Iesan seems to be grilling Head Investigator Jherek for info on the Undying Embers case. Which is good! Very good! And also detailed!
Also I'm introducing some members of Nosura's family.
Eventually the scene ought to lead to Iesan being arranged somehow to meet with the other PCs. Which will have a lot to do with that party that Iesan was already invited to by his wife. I suppose it is kind of a convenient coincidence, but... eh. I should try not to think about that too much or my mind will dive towards the "you SUCK as an ST!" mode again.
Other than the ED stuff... I've been playing Ace Attorney 4 with Jon a lot. (I'm amused at Lamiroir, whose nickname is the "Siren of the Ballad" -- every time she's referred to as a Siren I giggle. XD) And watching a lot of Monster, the anime. Good god I LOVE that anime so much. I've heard it is very faithful to the manga, which I've not read. I have to say that Monster is probably my most favorite anime ever, at this point. It's very mature and very dark and really suspenseful, with some twists and freaky mindfuckery that just makes you go "oshitoshitoshit!!"
Johan freaks the hell out of me. He's too pretty, and too incomprehensible, and just eeeeek. He can kill without batting an eye. And he also crossdresses a liiiiiiittle too well. (We're at that part right now. Mwahaha. I kept telling Jon, "GAH why doesn't he remove the stuffed bra BEFORE he takes off the wig and makeup!")
I think my favorite male character besides Dr. Tenma is ... Inspector Lunge. Oh god, how did I turn out a fangirl for LUNGE? But I suppose it's the fact I know how Monster actually *ends* that makes me <3 Lunge so much. Also, the fact I was on fandomsecrets and saw someone post a "Lunge x his right hand" secret... I think I've not quite gotten that image out of my head. (TMI!)
It also helps that Roberto is an ass and deserved what Lunge did to him. D: Totally. I think the part(s) of the anime where Roberto does Eva are horrifically BURNED into my MIND. ;.;
You know, I actually have a version of Roberto, pre-getting shot up, in my Sims 2 game. Seriously. You'd think I'd make Tenma or Lunge or Nina or Dieter or Reichwein (totally awesome, I LOVE when Reichwein beats up those guys that try to kick his ass in the alley, 'cause he used to be a border cop before becoming a doctor. YAY REICHWEIN!) But I made Roberto. He's this total joke character though -- I stuck him in the same household with Cooke (the hitman from Commando, a cheesy 80's action flick starring Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Erkhart Bravo, a guy I totally made up out of nowhere... sorta. He was vaguely, very vaguely, Suikoden 3 based.
Anyway, Monster RULES! :D
Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention! We (that being me, Jon, Eni, Cat and Selina) played some Legend of the Five Rings today. Except all of us were so rusty on combat rules that we only really got one round of combat done. And I spent my WHOLE round casting. D: Craps. Should I have even used a level 2 spell? I guess I'll get to see next week whether it really matters. Whatever happens, I'm going to definitely pull out a tetsubo next time I can cast. Even if it's totally stupid of me to with how low my TN to hit is. D:
Hrm... I'm cold and probably should be lying down now, so, bedtime for me!
