Wiki wiki wheeeee....

I made not just one wiki but two today... um... yesterday. Whatever. Kinda sleep deprived here. :O

Here is DarksirenWiki ... 3.0, I guess. I rather like it. ^^ I guess I just couldn't get away from using purples. I like them! But I made the actual wikipage part of the layout a somewhat off-white for ease of reading. I hope it looks okay.

Well, Kalli liked it enough 'cause she wanted a wiki just like it. And I made it here: apocryphal_muse ^^ Not sure whether the colors look like craps or not. It's hard for me to tell. =_= Like, the RA wiki turned out to be too bright for my eyes, once I worked with it for a while. So I may just rehaul the layout instead! I swear, I like installing / configuring wikis more than actually writing stuff in 'em.)

Kalli... try the wiki (you can sign in with the username/pass you gave me) and let me know if there's anything wrong!

Now I really ought to start working on my sheet for Riezsa... I decided to make up a new name instead of use the name of my Eaxia character. (Riezsa is actually the name I made up for my Mabinogi chara, but I've barely really played the game. I actually think the graphics are kind of... not so great, and the game can be choppy on my computer. Dunno, I'll give it a shot later, but I think I'd rather play my RPs and PSU.)

I'm waffling now about whether to make her a Night or a Dawn instead. In terms of the concept I have right now, she might fit better as a Dawn, but I wanted to do the whole "going against type" thing. I don't want to make a Dawn that's a rawr warrior!! any more than I want to make a Night that's a ninja. :P Actually, Riesza as Night Caste would be more of an infiltrator / disguise master. Yeah yeah, me and my excuses for elaborate costuming again. ^^;;; But that's part of why I so love to RP costuming, and acting, and such. Besides the obvious "I love fashion!" part, I think the idea of roleplaying a character that's roleplaying just tickles my fancy. :D

My brand of stealth tends to work by hiding in plain sight, too. Rather than sneaking around, making one think that my character's presence is innocuous, and even desired. So, naturally there will be Performance involved. Since when do I ever make a character BAD at Performance, anyway? Very rarely! :O

I do wonder if the ST is going to make a big deal about my character being the atypical Night, or something. Or say the concept is too complicated. I certainly hope not, though Riezsa is easily enough converted into a Dawn caste if I have to. It's not like she's a character I'm putting a ton of thought and effort into. Actually, I took way more time just setting up my new wiki so I had a place to put her sheet. ^^;

Speaking of DarksirenWiki, putting up Soul Collectors info is next on my list of things to do. I'll try to get to it soooon. But I think it might not be till next week. :( I'm actually starting to worry I scared off one of my players, so, I may still need to look for a third, or just run for the two I have left. I guess I'll just wait another few days and see what happens. :/

[Addendum: some notes for myself concerning the new Dokuwiki installs.]

I used the ACH template by Anika Henke. I had to alter some stuff in design.css and layout.css, though: first of all, to get rid of the background image behind the first navigation box on the left. (I did this for both wikis.)

I put several overrides into design.css for DarksirenWiki because I wanted more color variation to the layout. In particular, I messed with input.button, making the buttons dark with lighter, bolded text. Also, I needed to override the colors of a few form elements, because it looked like the configuration settings plugin was inheriting colors from some other CSS file.

I thought about trying to hack some way to display a wikipage in one of the sidebar boxes, so I could edit the sidebar through the wiki (rather than through ftp or shell account). But, it felt like a little more work than I wanted to do at the moment, so I decided I'd live with the built in indexer and breadcrumbs for the moment, and use the main page to point out specific sections of DarksirenWiki. I know... lazy way out, but I can always mess with creating a sidebar later.

For Kalli's wiki, I didn't change much besides taking out the aforementioned background image. I just changed the look of the header text a bit. ^^ I didn't want to change much at all, but I wanted the site to look at least a little different from DarksirenWiki besides the color changes.

Hopefully when Dokuwiki is updated, the ACH layout will be updated too, and won't change so radically that it'll take me an entire day to upgrade the wikis. n.n
