Proof that fashion is dumb...
Kay, this is weird cause it's two celebrity posts in a row and I don't even usually care about celebs, but...
Avril Lavigne's new year's outfit. Also note the other outfits linked below the article. Here this site keeps saying that she has terrible taste, but I actually like it. I don't like her music but I think her clothes/hair look pretty cool. :P I used to dress more like that when I was younger, and I probably still would if I could lose more weight. :P
This is my opinion, of course. Everyone has their own idea of what's stylish, and that's what they ought to judge by when they get dressed. Not what "popular opinion" deems stylish.
Now, that said, this very same site has an article about Campbell's soup can print dresses. WTF? THIS is what's stylish? Oh, and don't forget this horrifyingly ugly pink dress. Welcome to the heights of fashion! *rolls eyes*
Oh and while I'm at it--something else I hate? Those HUGEASS sunglasses that are so damned popular nowadays. They are the ugliest thing women have ever deemed to put on their faces. But because all the stars and all the "hip" people are doing it, everyone thinks it's stylish! HA! They're friggin' UGLY, that's what. People need to stop being sheep and develop their own styles.
Seriously, I can be terribly anxious about a lot of things, but one thing I have never compromised is my fashion sense. I wear what I think looks good. The problem I have is not about caring if my clothes fit today's trends, but that they fit my body, which is nowhere near the body weight I'd like to be. (And I wonder if I'll ever get there with my anxiety problems keeping me so tired and worn out all the time. I had to wake up just now after 4 hours of sleep because my heart is pounding and my lymph nodes aching.) There are plenty of things in today's fashion that I would NEVER ever wear. I just keep what's in my closet and pick what I want, and eventually what I wear comes back into fashion anyway!
But I've never really had anyone tell me I had bad fashion sense. Most everyone who actually bothers to mention it say they love my clothes. Psh, I could care less as long as I feel like my clothes express myself, and I'm not dressed like a tramp or a hobo. And that's about all anyone should try to do, really.

Campbell's Soup cans. Sure, let's take trash touted as high art, because that's what it is, a fucking drawing of a fucking soupcan, and turn it into high fashion by making it a dress! Rake in the millions from the masses who can't think for themselves and need someone else to decide what looks good. You have to admit it's shrewd business sense, if nothing else.
Personally I prefer Avril's outfit to these other things, oh god is that pink thing hideous.
Fashion can go sod itself as far as I'm concerned. I'll wear what I think looks good on me, not what some disembodied collective entity tells me should look good but doesn't. >_>
