Recap of yesterday, and Tanitha!

Yesterday I woke up pretty late and in a bad mood. I took a couple hours to find something suitable (not wrinkled, not fitted badly, etc.) to wear, which usually indicates that I'm being pretty temperamental. Heh.

But Jon and I did end up going to the mall for an hour or so. Went and looked at video games, bought unimportant but necessary stuff at the pharmacy. I also bought a pretty ...dress/tunic/thing? I don't know what to call it, but it was on sale and it's predominantly purple and white with these tiny triangular designs on it, and a thin black ruffle trim. I liked it, anyway, and the fit is nice and flattering, and it was on sale. So it's mine now!

Then we got groceries, which took about an hour. Mmm, food. Once I got home, I really wanted to play PSU, but everyone was either gone, busy or tired.

So instead I sat around chatting on IRC, and got the idea in my head to ask Celia about her D&D game, which turned out to be a C&C game (Castles & Crusades, a very simplified D&D-ish ruleset that has no skills, only attribute checks). I found this much to my liking, since I get totally lost with all the D&D supplements, making character builds and so on. You'd think d20 is supposed to be the *simple* system, but oddly, I find it not. o.o

The result is that I'm working on a new character, whom I'm tentatively naming Tanitha. I'm wanting her to be a half-elf and a ranger. I'm pretty sure on that now. I pondered a wizard but I really wanted a char that could physically fend for herself. I guess I'm tired of playing social types or magey types. ^^; But I had to pause on working on it 'cause I don't know what system Celia is using to come up with attributes (rolling 3d6, rolling 4d6, distributed preset values, point system -- heh, probably not point system, Celia hates those). Sooo I'll have to wait till she wakeys and I can poke at her.

One thing that's bugging me already is the choice of whether to make Dex or Wisdom my second primary attribute. Rangers get Strength, and half-elves only get to choose one other. But which one! ack! :O I am thinking it will be Dex, but still... all those neat Wisdom abilities... Bah. ;.; I don't want to go human just so I can get 3 primaries though; I wanted something non-human for once.

I've already figured out most of everything else I want to think up for Tani, though. Including appearance, though that might change if I decide to hunt a picture resembling her. Might be hard, with the pointy ears and all. ^^; Since I chose for her to be more elven than human in nature, she'll be pretty pale, I think, but I'm thinking her hair will be black and curly. I have a thing for dark and curly hair lately. :D

She probably won't have a very lengthy history, either... I don't want anything complicated. Either she's served as hunter and trapper in the village, or she came in by ship upon hearing her human parent (who would've grown up there) was soon to die, only to discover upon her arrival that he/she already died.

But I still have to ponder Tanitha's equipment. Lotsa armor types to consider, and weapons also. That's another thing I need to ask Celia... whether we start with standard money or extra. I hope I can at least get my char outfitted in decent armor that won't hinder her too much. I peeked at the Ranger weapon types though, and it says "Any"! Uh oh, what will I decide on, then?? *flails* I think that I'll get her a bow of some sort, since I don't think anyone else is doing ranged, but I also want close-ranged. I figure it'll be some sort of sword, though! Maybe! Or maybe I'll go weapon crazy and get a pole-range one and a melee one. o.O Sword makes more sense though, like, one for slashing at foliage maybe, that can also be carried easily at the belt.

Ahhh, I guess I'll think about it later! Now the sun's REALLY up, and I should try to get some sleep... *sigh* Rrrr, well I arranged my day so I have nothing until PSU time (heh! 9-10pm I guess) so I might poke at Sims 2 again for the rest of the day before then, or DR, dunno.
