Vacation

"Great" start of the day [TMI, mature themes]

[TMI warning: Themes of abuse, graphic descriptions of sexually demeaning fantasies, etc. The really graphic parts are labeled.]

It's raining outside...
storming actually.

I started my period. I haven't even packed yet. =_=

I ended up caught in some sort of depressive phase before I went to bed because sis was talking to me about... a certain member of my family, and I just...

Montreal apartment hunting

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 17 June 2008 in Daily Post, Vacation

I already wrote it out in my announcements *points to the left* but here it is again for those of you reading this through a RSS feed and such.

I'm headed to Montreal~ from June 17th to the 20th. That's starting tomorrow, of course. Jon and I are going there both to take a break from being at the comp WAY too much, and to go apartment hunting with the list we've compiled over the weeks.

I might be able to get online to post on journal(s), but no guarantees. Sooo don't expect me around till late on the 20th (or early 21st, if we end up taking the late bus).

If I do pop by it's a bonus, I guess! :P

Time to nurse my headache now though *whines at it* and play some Sims 2 before bed. I'm such an addict!

Wet and grumpy. bah.

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 11 September 2007 in Daily Post, Outing, Fashion, Vacation

I went out to get my haircut... it was really cute, I love it... but it started pouring outside and we didn't have an umbrella. So now it's all freaking WET and doesn't look anywhere near as nice as it did when I stepped out of the salon.

Dumb thing to be grumpy about, but I'd been annoyed at my hair being ugly after 5 months of growing out of its previous style. Now I have a new cut and I can't take a pic of it cause it's all ruined by rain. Booooo.

I guess that spares people more of my ugly face!

But I do have other pics that I will post to the gallery when I'm not lazy. :P Namely the ones from vacation! Especially at the farm (I took way too many cat pictures) and in Montreal (took a lot of pics of flowers at the botanical garden).

P.S. I disabled comments in the last post not cause there were comments that bothered me, but because I realized it's foolish to allow comments on a post where I say "don't tell me x". :P

Back from vacation, but headachy. ;.;

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 29 August 2007 in College, Daily Post, Language, Vacation

I'm back :O My eyelids have been tired all day and I have this icky pressure headache.

Short summary: We did a lot of wandering around the area of Montreal around the English universities. Walked into Concordia (one of the two) for a few hours and did a self-guided tour. Went to the botanical gardens in Montreal, saw the insectarium, and the biodome hosted at what was the Olympic Stadium when Montreal hosted the Olympics. Had great dinners each night... and staying at a hotel is so relaxing (we tried the spa. And we saw Knocked Up on the pay-per-view.)

Conclusion: I really like it in Montreal. It feels more comfortable for someone like me who knows very little French. I even felt an incentive to learn it more because there'd be more people like me struggling with language, what with international students and all. It will take a while to adjust to living and driving in a city with population comparable to LA, though. o.O

I might write more later but for now I really need rest. D:

Posting from my DS!

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 26 August 2007 in Daily Post, Vacation

This is weird and slow to type with, but wow! I can load and post to my site with my DS. Cool. I don't have a cellphone so this is the best I have for handheld browsing.

We got to Montreal in the afternoon. Took some navigating gymnastics to get to our hotel, but here we are! The hotel wi-fi turnedout to be a very limited free, so we went to test the DS browser at a coffee shop with wi-fi access (the Second Cup).

I also have (had) the best hazelnut coffee ever. Mm. And I'm proud of how well my site scales on the DS screen!

Other than that, we spent the day exploring around (not in yet) the college campuses, then enjoying the hotel amenities. Cable TV is still a novelty for us! We want to try the hot tub / sauna too. Hey, if we're paying...

I'd write more but like I said it's pretty awkward to type on this. There are some things on my mind I may address later, or when we are back. Bye-bye for now! ^_^

I'm going to Montreal ^_^

We're gonna stay at a hotel. :O It has free wireless access. I am pondering getting a DS browser just so we can poke at the 'net while there.

I keep thinking of how cool it could be if I could update my site from the DS. o.o It'd amuse me even more to be able to reboot my server through it, kinda like how Maddox can do it with his phone. Muahahah. Then again, DS browsers are too friggin' expensive, so we'll see!

I will be back Wednesday night, so seeya all then!

Meanwhile, a bit of recap of today (Sunday)...

Silly me. =_= (Also, PSU and Sims 2 obsessing!)

I stupidly realized just a few hours ago that it's dumb for me to leave for Montreal and stay there over a weekend. I'm actually going there to look at colleges, and duh, they'd not really be open on weekend! SMART MOVE, ME! :D

So anyway, I think we are leaving on Sunday instead. Which leaves me to be all selfish with my time for longer, I suppose. o.o But it does feel kind of stupid to be sitting here at home and calling it a vacation. I mean. what am I vacationing FROM? It's not like I do anything but RP. Well, and web projects and stuff. Just seems kind of stupid.

It's mostly just an excuse for me to play games a lot, I guess. I played PSU ALL day today (on and off). Though I also stopped and exercised some. And chatted with Selina. And stuff.

Back home for a bit :O

We're back at the apartment for now. Gotta stay for an appointment tomorrow or the day after, it's one or the other so we'll stay both days I think. Then it's off to Montreal!

I have Heroes of Mana. I couldn't wait to buy it. ;.; I'm playing it now. :D And I've got Sims 2 up and running too, so don't expect me to be very talkative. ^^; Mostly just around to say hi to a few people if I happen to catch them while I'm sitting at the comp.

My impression of Heroes of Mana is pretty good so far. It's more of a RTS than a traditional console strategy RPG. The first resource gathering units you get are cute lil bouncy rabites! RABITES! *bounces them all over the place~* One of the hero characters (Gemiere... there's an accent in that name but don't ask me to find the alt code for it right now, heh!) makes me think of Atma a lot. Which makes me *squee*! :D

I'm going to play more now, so... *plays~!*

I have a headache. ;_;

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 20 August 2007 in Daily Post, Family, Vacation

My inlaws' dog doesn't like the other dog that's here right now. So he's barking a lot. And I don't blame the poor guy, he's old and usually has the whole house to himself, with owners that pamper him and keep him comfortable. While the other dog is much younger, larger, and more energetic.

Also, the bigger one peed on the bed while I was sitting here using the comp. :P

But mostly, all the noise is exacerbating my headache. And I feel weird with too many people here because I don't understand shit of what people are talking about. And I rarely get to be included because no one really gives any time for Jon to translate for me, along with the mutual shyness we all seem to have on either side of the language barrier.

Camping! Charsheets! Sim-chan!

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 19 August 2007 in Characters, Daily Post, Roleplaying, Vacation, Website

We've just set up the tent and are gonna spend a day out now! woo! I might even get to fish tomorrow, I hope so.

Meanwhile I just printed out the chara applications for a Roleplay Online Exalted 2nd ed game I wanted to join. I was about to lament that I didn't bring the Ex2 book, when I remembered the ST for the game wanted chara histories before sheets. So I might as well not get too attached to the concept from the beginning. :P

Also, sometime this morning I finally got sim-chan onto my new webserver. All I have on there is an index placeholder, but at least it seems to work, so that's something! It can be accessed at: www.sim-chan.com or 64.202.120.227 (sorry, I think I posted the wrong IP at first :P)

I'll pop online tomorrow night for a bit, I think... if I can't make it, I definitely will on Tuesday! :o
