Saturday, restful! Sunday... more of the same!

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 23 November 2008 in CCGs, College, Daily Post, Family, Friends, Online Games, Roleplaying

Wardragon today!!! Yayayayayayay. :D

And Saturday was really a relaxing day. I didn't really do much of anything... except finally set up my netname on the Concordia site. Man, I can't believe I still have something like 5 months till I'll get a response... I suppose those months will go fast, but still, it seems like forever, still.

I messed with RPoL, as usual... Got to chat with Selina and Grey (he and I don't talk quite enough! and we should :o) and my sis (on Skype, anyway) and I played a bit more PSU (we got Phantom Fissure again, mmmm good drops).

I admit I kinda would like to RP more with Selina and/or Grey again :o I've been telling them about my RPoL games, though I also wouldn't be adverse to some OpenRPG stuff. I wonder if they'd play with Jon and we could have a small fun game. Something that ISN'T all bogged down 'cause of timezone issues, argh. Or they could get into my forum stuff, either way!

Here is another fun diversion Clark showed me: Alteil!

Sleep deprivation sucks.

So... we got our new windows, but they're not totally done. It looks like they need some finishing work. So we don't have any idea when the guys will come in again to finish it. Jon and I are all sleeping uneasily and it blows. :D

On the OTHER hand it's left me a lot of time to be inspired for gaming. I swear, wtf is with me lately? ALL I want to do is RP. *boggles*

I started another RPoL game which is Realm based and with a very amusing premise... The group is a mixed Exalt one, with the daughter of Sesus Nagezzer being supported by a splinter Sidereal group to reform Realm government, possibly even take the Throne. Splinter because the Sids are actually employing Solars in hiding to protect and aid her task, something I don't think the Bronze would do, and the Gold are too busy with their Cult to bother with.

Another PC is also her Dragon-blood husband to be. I may actually be starting this Realm game with a wedding gala, too! Heh!

Building up confidence.

I went out again today, to make a phone call about my check card. The bank told me I have to wait until a month before the expiration 'cause that's when they send the new one out. I tried to get them to send it sooner but they wouldn't. :( So I have to wait and get my parents to forward it next July.

I'm liking that I've been out every day the past three days. Just doing little things at a time, but I'm doing things and I'm getting less anxious. Definitely need more time and exposure to being outside to build my confidence, though.

Next Jan. I hope to finally get started on some French classes, since I won't be in university till the fall. (Again, assuming I get accepted, though I heard from my therapist not long ago that she already sent off the letters on my behalf. That's very encouraging.)

Drupal 6.6, some RP ramble, FFX-2

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 02 November 2008 in Roleplaying, Video Games, Website

Drupal 6.6, now. Had security updates and such. I really ought to automate the process of updating but I'm way too nervous about it to just not do it by hand. :P

Eventually I'll have to update everything to D7, anyway, I don't think the python route will be happening for a while longer since I'm lazytastic at figuring it out. Heh.

The other big thing was updating various modules like Views, Content Construction Kit, Date, etc... fortunately the people working on those seem to be working together to ensure their modules work right together, so that's nice.

Well, that's probably the most productive thing I've done in weeks, if you don't count my RPoL games...

(some ramble about them below)

Good times y/n?

RPoL obsession... still going strong.

Outcastes, I am starting to feel better about again since moving the game onto a more interesting encounter.

Five Coils, I already have 8 players for, wtf? Well, technically 7. But it is SO not hard to find players. And yeah, that includes at least halfway decent ones. For that game I pretty much personally asked people to join, I got a yes from all but one.

Hmm. I think I am not all that sucky at this after all. Problem is that all I do now is RPoL, and almost NOTHING ELSE. I kinda worry I don't give myself other things to pay attention to or do. Jon keeps saying it's ok... because it makes me happy, and barring being able to do ANYTHING else about my situation of complete life stagnation and NO good news in the mail, that's pretty much the best I can do to stay sane.

Well I don't want to think about the crap right now. So moving on...

Lion-Bull War link. Abyss addendum.

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 22 October 2008 in Characters, Links, Roleplaying, Video Games

Exalted 2e: The Lion-Bull War now has a forum up at RPoL.

However... as stated in the info for the game I don't think I will begin the game itself for a while. I just wanted to get the premise out there and give people a chance to check it out, think of concepts, maybe request to join if they wish. I feel like it's futile for me to keep pointing it out but RPoL actually *is* fun. Sometimes slow, since it's forum, and the experience depends on the players.. but it's fun.

Oh, and I also found out I was wrong about From the Abyss, there really *are* female sprites. I just had the volume down so I couldn't tell which ones were chicks, haha. (It's the last two sprite selections.) So now I have Atma running around in the Abyss chopping up monsters! Putting all her points into Attack and Agility so far. Later, I think I may make another who'll be a bow user/magicky type, too! (Maybe Jadira?)

the better side to my outing :P

I bought stuff, too. with money I should have saved but eh.

music
- Metallica Death Magnetic
- Keane Perfect Symmetry

(heh I actually went for popular albums :P)

game
- From the Abyss (Nintendo DS game, it's a roguelike adventure thingy so I'm excited to try it. not to be mixed up with Tales of the Abyss for PS2)

these things will cheer me up, though as usual it will be fleeting. that's pretty much the extent of happiness I have in my life.

p.s. Outcastes is still going fine so far... I hope I will be able to keep it up...

Hopelessness

Sanity low, hopelessness high...

I am going to take the next week to try and figure out my fate. Basically going to try and start the college app process despite the massive setbacks I'm still facing (no working phone number, no bank account, no health card and etc.) so I can at least have something I can feel is progression in life.

I may also be
- working on dice roller; with some suggestions from Kraken I am taking a slightly different and hopefully easier approach. But it also requires some AJAX... ewww. (And why does the name 'AJAX' even exist? I mean, AJAX = DHTML, pretty much.)
- putting up Paypal donation button. Money is needed. :(
- considering buying webspace based in Canada and actually starting up a low-pay web hosting service.
- playing Atlantica (Aemris @ Macedon server) and RPoL games when taking a break from work/responsibilities.

More about Atlantica.

By Dark Siren Sally - Posted on 10 October 2008 in Characters, Online Games, Screenshots

So, I really like Atlantica. The reason mainly being because it's a free to play game but with a system that deviates noticeably from the norm.

First, a screenshot: My character (Aemris) and Jon's (Shiren) in Sapporo, one of many Atlantica cities (the geography of Atlantica is based on the real world, but with a lot of fanciful elements and interpretations of history).

Like most MMOs, you make your own personal character. You've got quests mostly collecting things and talking to people and stuff like that. There's a crafting system. And so on. But the part that I find really cool is actually the strategy game aspect.

Gaming, good and bad

Mmm, I spent a while today playing in this awesome new MMO: Atlantica. It's a turn based strategy MMO set in some sort of alternate real world (maybe 1500s ish?), and I am enjoying it enough that I think it'll be a keeper. :D More about that later.

Oh and I went and messed with the PS3 for a bit also. Jon and I finished Metal Gear Solid 4 a little while ago, and since it's our only game (right now) we were poking around with the Playstation Store. Downloaded some free demos, including Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which is *really* great fun to play. I had a blast with the controls, and marveling at the very real physics engine (force grip, whee!)

But first the bad stuff...
